Okay, I need some advice from people who've been through this! 
I'm applying for a bunch of scholarships this semester—like, probably 15 different ones 
—and I know my essays need to be absolutely polished to stand out. My problem is, I'm a pretty good writer, but I struggle with making my work feel "professional" and "polished" without losing my authentic voice. Everything I write ends up sounding like I'm trying too hard, you know? 
I've been looking into hiring a scholarship essay writing service, but honestly, I'm super skeptical. I keep seeing ads for services that promise "guaranteed scholarships" or "write your essay in 24 hours," and those feel like major red flags to me.
I don't want someone to write my essay FOR me—I want someone to help ME write it BETTER.

Did they offer editing and coaching, or did they try to write everything from scratch? I'm looking for collaboration, not replacement.
