A writing coach told me: “Short sentences are powerful. They force you to focus on one idea at a time. They give your reader room to breathe.” I was skeptical. I tried it anyway.

- Short. Clear. Direct.
- I vary the length. Sometimes a long one flows.
- Then I break it. Short again.
