I have ADHD. Officially diagnosed, medicated, the whole thing. And writing essays is actual torture. Like, physical pain levels of difficulty.
My brain does this thing where I sit down to write and suddenly I notice the dust on my laptop screen, which makes me think about cleaning, which makes me think about vacuuming, which makes me remember I need to do laundry, and three hours later I've done everything except write the essay.
When I finally DO write, it's either 3 AM panic mode or hyperfocus where I write 10 pages without eating or peeing. There's no in-between. No normal, steady, consistent writing. Just chaos.
How do other ADHD people manage this? Are there strategies that actually work for our weird brains? I need help from people who get it.
I've tried timers, apps, rewards, punishments. Nothing sticks. What works for you?
